The vinyl premiere of Michał Urbaniak’s album “I jazz love you” took place on Valentine’s Day this year. On this occasion, we invited the artist to a special listening session in our pressing plant.
Michał Urbaniak is the artist who does not need to be presented. An outstanding jazzman, saxophonist, jazz violinist, composer and – as he says about himself – romantic. In his career he played with the biggest of the biggest. An important moment in his work was recording the “Tutu” album with the legend of world jazz – Miles Davis.
During the meeting, the guests together with the artist listened to the album “I jazz love you”, which for the first time in history has its vinyl edition. It was the song from this album that led Michał Urbaniak to the meeting with Miles Davis. It happened with the help of Johnny Carson, who heard “Take Good Care Of My Heart” on the radio and invited polish jazzman to perform live in his famous Tonight Show program. Davis saw the performance and as a result he proposed the cooperation.
This and many other stories from his life and career Michał Urbaniak told in the conversation with Jacek Wroński – the music journalist who led the meeting. After the official part, guests had the opportunity to talk to the musician personally, sign a CD or take a photo.
